Team Adjourning Stage

When I led the teacher’s professional development team for 3 years, it was difficult for me to say good-bye to my team members. We had clear goals of operating the program, we had high standard of daily work, and we were very happy with each other and trusted each other a lot when we worked together.
When I started the master’s degree, the professor and the colleagues are very inclusive, they know English is not my mother tongue, and they encourage me to share my opinions and my culture, I think I am important part of the learning journey. They are very open to share ideas, and I have learnt a lot from them.
Adjourning is essential since through this stage, we can remember those happy moments, the successful parts, the friendship and trust. We learn from our experience. All these are precious to everyone.

  1. Great Post, when you start something new, the adjourning stage allows you to reflect and evaluate your growth. As a teacher, you build relationship with your students and when they leave to go to another grade. Your good bye are so hard because you don't want to let them go.. You gain and learn the strength and weakness of people.

  2. Xia,
Yes, you are an important part of the learning journey at Walden. That's why we can appreciate one another because we all bring something different to the table. Whether it is our culture or something other, what we share is rewarding. Building trust and relationships within teams is an important aspect and as you mentioned, precious to everyone.
