reflection of what I have learnt in Early Childhood Research

Research is not so far away from ordinary life. People starts to investigate the world from born. Research could be a small issue or a big social problem in early childhood. Before I started the course, I thought research is like Himalaya mountain for me, I really don't think I could get through the course. But with the study going on, with the tasks finished, Professor Todd's instruction and comment, and the colleagues's discussion and help, I survived.
Research plan and design is very important before implementing the research. And during the research, the ethic issue must be taken care of before any research. I did meet a lot of challenges during the study. I am not familiar with the early childhood field, I have no idea about research and the terminologies are unfamiliar to me. Well, everything is new to me in early childhood research. I did take some time to read some Chinese version research books, and compare them with the English textbook.
An early childhood expert takes care of the daily work and also need to synthesis the scientific experience, and most importantly, through their "action research", the experts can share their knowledge and findings with the society especially anyone who have something to do with the children. All for the children!

  1. Hello Xia
I am glad we got to the end of this course with success; it was also hard for me to understand the different terms used in research. I appreciate the glossary section that helped me to define the meaning of difficult words. Also, the index helped me to find the pages on which the words were mentioned or discussed. The end of this course has arrived, and with it another step to fulfill our dream. Thank you for your support and comments, I have gained insights that will help me to be a skilled professional.

  2. Omg Xia! I loved your starting point of this blog! When you stated that basically we are natural born researchers....this is soooooo true!!! We all have curiosity as a natural born instinct! We are curious straight from the womb!! I feel this class has taught us how to act out appropriately on these curious tendencies and perform research that is ethical and trustworthy! We all have come a long way and I feel that this class is a great preparation for our future! Good luck to you Xia!!

  3. Sharing knowledge and findings with the society is an interesting part of research. However, it can also be challenging since this subjects the research to scrunity and criticism. Although this may be a difficult process, it is a necessary phase of the research process.

  4. I'm glad that you feel mire comfortable about conducting research. I was also apprehensive about researching at the start of this course. Now I feel knowledgeable about the whole research process because of the assignments we have done throughout this course.

  5. I understand what you mean when you say that you had no idea about research and the terminologies are unfamiliar to me. I heard about a few of the terminologies but never had the opportunity to put them to use. But since taking this class i'm sure we will do fine with research.
